Are you on the list to vote for the upcoming municipal election?

If you are an Ontario resident over the age of 18 you can visit voterlookup.ca to confirm or update your information in a few easy steps. You can also change your school support for electoral purposes and add names to your property address.

Updating this information will help to ensure that municipal Voters’ Lists are accurate and up-to-date in preparation for municipal and school board elections occurring on October 22, 2018.

INFORMATION FOR VOTERS

Who is Eligible to Vote?

You are qualified to vote in the Election if you are:

  •      –  a Canadian Citizen
  •      –  at least 18 years of age
  •      –  a resident of the Municipality of Dysart et al, or a non-resident owner or tenant of land in the Municipality or their spouse
  •      –  not prohibited from voting under any law

 

You can only vote once regardless of how many properties you own or rent in the Municipality.

The following do not qualify to vote in a municipal election:

  •      –  anyone serving a sentence in a prison,
  •      –  anyone acting as a representative for someone else, except as a certified Proxy Voter
  •      –  anyone convicted of a corrupt election practice within the past five years, or
  •      –  a corporation.

A copy of the Voters Guide prepared by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs is pending.
